Todd Bimat
Todd Bimat was born and raised in Reedley, California. He rode his first cutting horse when he was nine years old which started a fire which has never burned out. Training his first cutting horse when he was 12, he went on to compete in various club shows and the California High School Rodeo Association qualifying for the California State Finals and the National High School Finals rodeo.
From there Todd went to work for some of the best in the cutting industry – Leon Harrel, Kenny Patterson and Chubby Turner – all past world champions and NCHA Hall of Fame recipients. Moving on to the Rapp Ranch, he then helped in aiding the young Phil Rapp in riding and showmanship.
Todd, himself an NCHA Hall of Fame recipient, has now won over $2,000,000 in earnings and has found success in all major cutting events including Champion of the NCHA Super Stakes and the PCCHA Futurity. Todd is a much respected AAAA NCHA judge whose opinion is always valued.
Todd has been recognized as great help in the show pen. His help has earned many different riders the success they were achieving. A highlight is seeing the face of a first time cutting hopeful and their excitement as they feel the horse move beneath them.
Todd is married to Erin Bimat who also shows cutting horses. His son, Trent Bimat, showed in the many youth cutting events earning many scholarships. Trent has gone on to attend Weatherford College and has hopes of continuing showing.
When Todd’s busy schedule allows, he loves to play golf, and enjoy his family and friends.
