6-1, 180…Wife, Christi; daughter Kylee Bree (born March 10, 2008), daughter Kenzie (born May 16, 2011)…Hobbies include golf…Didn’t start roping until 1998, when he made some friends who were involved with rodeo. He was riding horses for three-time world champion Allen Bach and was introduced to Tee Woolman and started roping with him…Enjoys riding motorcycles when not roping…His parents, Richard and Gloria, own a heating and air conditioning company in Midland called Smith Company, and he has an older brother and sister. He is the first in his family to be involved in rodeo…He doesn’t believe in superstitions…Horse is Sunday Night Bingo (Amigo), a 10-year-old sorrel gelding…Favorite sports team is the Dallas Cowboys…Rodeo idols are Clay O’Brien Cooper and Allen Bach…Appeared on ESPN’s Cold Pizza morning show in Las Vegas on Dec. 6, 2005
